Fiberglass Fan Silencer Box

Fiberglass Fan Silencer Box

For the consideration of environment protection, industrial fans need to take care of noise level. Fan silencer box is the idel solution for lowering the noise emission. Fiberglass performs well in absorb the isolate the noise created due to friction between fan parts and high speed air movement. Utilizing the silencer box, it is able to lower the noise level by 10 dB to 50 dB. Fiberglass is a kind of fiber-reinforced plastic, and it is known for its outstanding strength and low density. Fiberglass is also more economical effective compated with stainless steel silencer box.

Description

Introduction

The Fiberglass Fan Silencer Box is a highly effective sound insulation device designed to reduce fan noise. It is widely used in industrial, commercial and residential environments where noise pollution needs to be controlled, especially in fan systems, air conditioning equipment and ventilation systems.

Features

Excellent Sound Absorption Performance
Our products adopt a multi-layer composite sound absorption structure, with the inner layer being high-density glass fiber wool (density 96kg/m³), the middle layer being a micro-perforated resonance cavity, and the outer layer being a fiberglass shell. In the main noise frequency band of 125-4000Hz, the sound reduction reaches 25-45dB(A), which is 15-20% more efficient than similar metal silencers.

Excellent Fireproof Performance
Our products have passed the GB8624 B1 fireproof certification, with a fireproof temperature of 300℃. The specially formulated flame-retardant resin makes the product oxygen index ≥32, and the smoke volume is less than 50m²/kg when exposed to fire, meeting the fire protection requirements of most industrial sites.

Lightweight and High-strength Structure
The material density is only 1.8g/cm³, which is 1/3 the weight of stainless steel products of the same size, and the tensile strength reaches 280MPa.

Applications

Industrial Plant Ventilation System
Applicable to the silencing treatment of air inlets and outlets of various production workshops, reducing the aerodynamic noise generated by large air volume fans during operation, improving the acoustic environment of the factory area, and meeting the industrial noise emission standards.

Chemical and Corrosive Environments
In chemical plants and acid-base gas emission systems, FRP materials are corrosion-resistant and acid mist-resistant, suitable for high-corrosion and high-humidity fan inlet and outlet sections, ensuring long-term stable operation of the system.

Tunnel and Underground Ventilation Engineering
Used in ventilation systems in closed spaces such as subways, tunnels, and underground garages, it controls the noise interference generated by fan airflow, and has good flame retardant and moisture-proof properties, meeting the safety standards of underground engineering.

Medical Institutions and Laboratories
In the fresh air and exhaust vents of hospital air conditioning systems and biological laboratories, it effectively reduces airflow noise, ensures a quiet environment, and does not breed bacteria on the FRP surface, meeting the cleanliness requirements.

FAQ

Q: How does a fiberglass fan silencer reduce noise?

A: The internal structure contains sound-absorbing materials (such as mineral wool or acoustic foam), often combined with internal baffles that slow and diffuse the airflow. As air moves through the box, turbulence noise and vibration energy are absorbed and reduced before reaching downstream ducts or open space.

Q: Where are fiberglass fan silencers typically used?

A: They are commonly used in chemical plants, wastewater treatment facilities, marine ventilation systems, and corrosive exhaust applications. These are environments where conventional steel silencers would degrade quickly due to moisture or chemical exposure.

Q: What should buyers consider when selecting a fiberglass silencer box?

A: Key considerations include air volume, required noise reduction level (dB), static pressure loss, installation space, and chemical exposure level. Buyers should also ensure the fiberglass thickness and resin type (e.g., epoxy, vinyl ester) are appropriate for their application's temperature and corrosion demands.
